Majority wants end to illegal immigration

The Journal News should not allow its Editorial Board's sympathy for illegal aliens to affect its overall news coverage of illegal immigration issues.

While we frequently read about the problems faced by "day laborers," the economic, public health and safety problems that illegal aliens pose to our communities are seldom mentioned. Many Westchester, Rockland and Putnam residents disagree with this paper's and local politicians' attitude of acceptance toward illegal immigration. When reporting on hiring facilities for illegal aliens, for example, balance should be maintained by interviewing one or two individuals who are opposed to such plans.
