A new study by the Center for Immigration Studies, based on the latest Census Bureau data, shows the number of immigrants in America, both legal and illegal, has swelled to a record 38 million this year – making one of every eight U.S. residents an immigrant.
The new numbers indicate the highest level in more than eight decades – with a third of those being illegal aliens.
One third of immigrants are on some form of welfare, costing states nearly $20 billion a year, the study claimed, adding that efforts to legalize the spiraling number of illegal aliens will only increase the amount of uneducated, uninsured legal immigrants burdening America’s welfare rolls.
Since 2000, more than 10 million immigrants have entered the U.S., more than half of them illegally, according to the CIS. With no change in U.S. immigration policy, another 15 million immigrants will likely arrive in the next 10 years.

The question of how much LEGAL immigration is good for America needs to be raised now that we are a solidly developed - even overcrowded - country. And of course, anyone who disagrees that the answer should be 'unlimited' can expect to be called a racist.

Population control will in the future become a large issue, we take in more immigrants then all countries combined, no one really has a true number on illegals in America. Certainly we are on a path to disaster not trying to be dramatic but the signs are there. Our services are breaking our roads, bridges overloaded and need repairs. We continue to outsource good jobs and add more service jobs, our public education system is failing. In time China will own us and then what.
It could be turned around now but at some point we will reach the point of no return, the question I have is why have our leaders and corporate america done this and simply in my opinion it is greed.I'm old with many opinions few solutions.
