    Ohio Deportations up 37%

    Local deportations up 37%
    DAN HORN

Immigration agents set another record this year when they deported more than 4,000 illegal aliens from Ohio and Michigan, a 37 percent increase over last year.

The number of people forcibly removed from Ohio and Michigan surged 37 percent this year, outpacing the increase seen nationally. Deportations in the region have more than doubled since 2004.

Immigration officials credit the success of fugitive-hunting teams now established in Cleveland and Detroit.

“The message is, we’re continuing to improve, and it’s getting harder to hide,â€
