If all unauthorized immigrants were removed from New Jersey, the state would lose $24.2 billion in economic activity, $10.7 billion in gross state product, and approximately 103,898 jobs, even accounting for adequate market adjustment time, according to a report by the Perryman Group.

Well, I don't buy the 104,000 jobs, I mean why would the jobs disappear just because the people who stole them disappeared? Why wouldn't those jobs be filled with American workers? When the 104,000 illegal aliens stole jobs from Americans, did the state lose $24 billion in "economic activity" and $10.7 billion in "gross state product"?

New Jersey's gross state product in 2012 was almost $529 billion a year, so $10.7 billion is only 2% which they'd make up in a year at 2% annual growth. They'd also save on state welfare expenses since on average in the nation, 71% of illegal aliens are on one form of welfare or another plus food stamps, subsidized housing, free school lunch and so forth, which aren't counted in the CIS study. And because the jobs vacated by the illegal aliens would now be filled with American Workers, probably at higher wages, then there would be no loss of economic activity or gross state product, there would only be loss in welfare spending on illegal aliens and the American workers they displaced and reductions in unemployment and underemployment amongst Americans.
