Immigrants rights protest casts shadow on Cornyn visit

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn got less than a warm visit while in San Antonio Monday.

Cornyn was in town to praise the Texas Diabetes Institute and to highlight its work in combating the disease.

He was met by protestors from the Southwest Workers Union, who said Cornyn turned his back on immigrants and the fight for their rights.

"Where was he when we really needed his leadership and his compassion, which we have never seen," one protestor said.

"This is the heart of the Hispanic community in San Antonio, and I believe he's just here to make himself look good," another protestor said.

Cornyn did not respond to the protestors' claims.

Those people just don't know what they are talking about. They should have been running up kissing his feet for being an OBL.

Cornyn, did you see what you expected out of all those people you want to flood America with?

In reference to these workers unions, I'm totally confused. Can't legal union workers see that they stand to lose the most by the the union leadership's support of illegal immigration. After all, it is illegal immigration that is undermining their job security, wages, and benefits. Why are the individual due paying members speaking out against the direction the union leadership is attempting to lead the unions? Does the leadership actually have the ability to brainwash all the legal union members? I wonder what sort of lies the so-called union leadership is spreading that would be strong enough to convince long standing members (American citizens) that illegal immigration will help them?

The labor unions, which I always considered as vital in keeping corporate America in check, have foresaken their members and the country. What can we do to set them straight, any suggestions? Somehow we have to convince the legal union workers to rebell against their leadership.
