OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- A sweep of suspected gang members and their associates on Tuesday morning led to the arrest of 38 people in Oceanside.

The crackdown, which was known as Operation Crazy Train, targeted an Oceanside street gang that is believed to have more than one hundred members, including a large portion of illegal immigrants. The gang has been linked to drug trafficking and other criminal activities.

Thirty-three men and five women, all of whom are Mexican nationals, were picked up during the sweep.

Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the North County Regional Gang Task Force arrested the suspects at homes in the Oceanside area.
