Immigration bills still in works

DENVER — Democrats introduced their first immigration-themed bill of this year’s session Friday, in contrast to more than a dozen bills introduced by Republican lawmakers so far.
House Bill 1342 — from Rep. Mike Cerbo, D-Denver, and Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald, D-Jefferson County — is the first of several bills Democrats plan to sponsor on immigration, an issue that thus far has been the almost exclusive domain of the Legislature’s Republicans, House Speaker Andrew Romanoff said.
Unlike most of the bills GOP lawmakers have introduced since the session began Jan. 11, Cerbo and Fitz-Gerald’s bill never directly refers to “illegal aliens,â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
