Some immigration advocates peddle the notion that immigration will solve the future financial burdens of Social Security. Rubenstein shows how foolish is this prediction because today's low-wage workers will surely become tomorrow's expensive retirees.
What I never hear from anyone, or see written anywhere, is how much an illegal will benefit if he/she is allowed to collect Social Security in the future. If an illegal is fraudulantly using a SS#, and it is one that is no longer used by someone who is deceased, the illegal will not only benefit from what he/she has paid into SS, but that which was paid in before the person died. What if the number is quite old before the illegal gets it? What if the illegal is already claiming retirement on the number, while still working on another stolen #? Can that happen?[/quote]
