Immigration Deal Concerns Latino Families In Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Part of an immigration agreement announced in Washington, D.C., on Thursday has Latinos in Charlotte worried their families will be split up.
It calls for the head of household to return to their homeland and then apply to return to the United States, while other family members would be allowed to stay through costly long-term visas.
"People are very afraid to get out of the United States, leaving their family," said WNOW radio talk show host Jorge Medina after receiving dozens of calls on the immigration issue Friday afternoon.
The president and a bi-partisan group of senators say the immigration deal would strengthen the U.S.-Mexico border. It would also give the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants in the country a chance to stay, however.

Why don't they go home to fight for their countrymen, who are being slaughtered in their states and towns...how many died this week in Mexico from drug cartels...do they not have any backbone...or do they want America to fix that too...or are they to interested in being BLUE COLLAR workers here....sheesh...Why is LA RAZA not in the Streets over there talking smack...helping them gain back their Aztalan from the drug cartels...what a bunch of spineless sea urchins
