Immigration debate resurfaces for Fourth

The immigration debate got some new life in the Twin Cities Tuesday.

Both sides of the issue held rallies arguing their points. Both, wanting their messages to be heard.

Immigration proponents celebrated their July 4th at the Minnesota Capitol.

"One, two, three, four we don't want your border war!" protestors chanted. "Five, six, seven, eight we say no to racist hate!"

"What I think it's important to do is that we recapture our own history and what it means to be an immigrant nation," immigrant Advocate Bruce Nestor said.

Those against illegal immigration, held a rally of their own in Jordan.

"It is our Independence Day and our independence is at risk right now...the soveirgnty of the United States is in dire jeopardy," said anti-Illegal Immigration advocate Ruthie Hendrycks said.

Those against argued for no amnesty, a fence lining our borders and zero tolerance for those here without documentation.

"The problem is we just can't open our borders and let it flow, where would it stop?" Hendrycks said.

But those on the side of immigrants want protection and equality with every American.

"We have a choice of legalization, of recognizing that all people who work and participate and live in our city are a part of our community or we have the alternative of a permanent underclass subject to exploitation and division." Nestor said.

Some of the anti-illegal immigration advocates are riding for their cause. A motorcycle motorcade called the Twenty-First Century Paul Revere Ride is heading to Washington, D.C. - stopping in major cities along the way to rally.

"Like Paul Revere, we are warning American citizens of the consequences of massive immigration illegally into our country," said Frosty Wooldridge.

The Paul Revere riders say the pro-immigrant rally Tuesday in St. Paul was the largest they have seen since their tour began. They have been to 18 cities so far. They will conclude their ride with in August at an anti-illegal immigration rally on the mall in Washington, D.C.

Hi curious - I give up on trying to figure out pro-illegals.

I will just keep at our stupid, slimeball, traitorous, treasonous elected officials and pray alot.

Congratulations on getting out of Florida. I hope you land in more hospitable territory.
