    Immigration lawsuit to hit Thursday

The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the American Civil Liberties Union and other opponents of Arizona’s new anti-immigrant law say they will rollout a legal challenge Thursday.

The new law allows police to question and arrest people they suspect of being undocumented and makes it a crime to transport illegal immigrants.

Details of the lawsuit will be unveiled Thursday at the Arizona State Capitol, according to the ACLU.

The suit is expected to be filed in federal court and could challenge the law on due process, equal protection and federal powers grounds. Detractors say the law unfairly targets Hispanics.

State Sen. Russell Pearce, the main sponsor of the Senate Bill 1070, said the law will withstand expected legal challenges and will help police battle Mexican drug cartels, money launderers and smugglers operating in Arizona.

Bring it on! I don't think this law conflicts with federal law in any way. If anything "Sanctuary Laws" DO CONFLICT with the federal laws and if they were challenged in court those would be found unconstitutional.

That's right. The sanctuary laws DO conflict with federal laws. I cant understand how they are allowed to exist at all. No one is doing their job.
