Immigration march set to take place Tuesday

Immigration march set to take place Tuesday

05:15 PM Mountain Standard Time on Sunday, April 29, 2007

    By Claudia Rivero / 3TV

Thousands marched last year pushing for comprehensive immigration reform and now organizers are planning another march in Phoenix.

An estimated 5,000 to 10,000 people are expected to take part.

The march will again end at the state capitol, but organizers don't expect the march to be as massive as last year's. They say they won't stop them from getting their message across.

“Our undocumented people it is the only option they have,” march organizer Elias Bermudez said. “They need to come out and show their faces, even with fear, they need to come out and say here I am, what are you going to do with me?”

On Tuesday, thousands will take to the streets to make their voices heard. They're hoping this will be the year Congress passes comprehensive immigration reform.

“There is the political will to do it, everybody from left to right,” Bermudez said. “They need to do it they see the urgency.”

March organizer and founder of Immigrants without Borders, Bermudez doesn't expect the crowds to be as large as they were last year, but says the march will go on.

“We want to bring people together, we want to bring a solution to a major problem in Arizona,” Bermudez said.

A problem Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said his agency is doing something about by enforcing the state's anti-smuggling law.

Although Arpaio doesn't agree with the undocumented community he feels the massive marches have accomplished one task.

“These marches in the past did agitate, aggravate or at least inform politicians in Washington that something better be done about it,” Sheriff Arpaio said.

“Congress is the only one that can do something about this,” Bermudez said. “We're hoping Congress will do something this year.”

The March will start at 9:30 on Tuesday morning at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum and it will end at the state capitol. Phoenix police will dedicate about 150 officers to the event

If Bush is really serious about deporting illegals, he will arrest every one of the marchers for creating road hazards and chaos for Legal American citizens. ICE, deport every one of them.

America should not have to have these lowlife criminals parading in our streets. It is time to clean up America and return the illegals and their anchor babies to the country they came from.

But, you've just stated the most obvious part...Bush isn't serious about our security as a nation and protecting the American way of life!
