Immigration and The New York Times
By William McGowan
January 2011
Backgrounders and Reports
Instead of functioning as an impartial referee in the national conversation about controversial issues, the New York Times has become a cheerleader, an advocate, even a combatant, some critics have argued. Rather than maintain professional detachment and objectivity, the paper has embraced activism. Rather than foster true intellectual and ideological diversity, the paper has become the victim of an insular group-think, turning into a tattered symbol of liberal orthodoxy that is increasingly out of touch. And rather than let the chips fall where they may no matter who is embarrassed or shamed by their reporting, the paper’s news sections have been shaded by fear of offending certain groups and favoritism toward certain causes. Stories that should be done in a timely and responsible manner are often not done at all, or they are done years after news pegs for them have come and gone. Although the paper can be scrupulous about factual corrections, it has shown limited inclination or ability to come to terms with larger mistakes of meaning or interpretation, especially when doing so might transgress a liberal party line or expose its biases.
One of the areas where these trends are most apparent is in the coverage of immigration. The narrative about “a nation of immigrantsâ€When you aid and support criminals, you live a criminal life style yourself:

All this is true in all major media be it NY Times, LA Times, CBS, NBC, or Fox. They all try and weed out these issues that are news worthy and when they do report take a political side rather then reporting from unbiased standpoint.
I really dislike the idea of government regulation but as far as News goes I think we need a federal watchdog that regulates in some form political bias out of "news". A show like Glenn Beck and from the otherside could be aired as an opinion show just fine. But as far as news goes nothing should make news section that isn't straight fact and unbiased. The rest is for opinion sections.
It seems like a far reach and a very close step to moderating the news but its just so sickening when we can't even get fair news reported as it stands. Right now the government is already moderating the news and its the liberal side. Need to remove that moderation by regulation to re-moderate from a non political opinion view.

To PaulRevere9:
Hi Paul,
When I stated in my post, maybe we should contact The New York Times; I should have explained why contact the news reporters. I would never contact them of course; however, there seems to be a need to outline all the problems illegal aliens have caused this Country to suffer in the past years, without much justice for their criminal activities. Possibly the news agency could get a grip on the news they reports, which causes many people to be confused about the immigration debate and even more mislead about what is truly affecting this Country in so many different ways. I have heard people say, immigrants are pitiful people and need to stay in this Country so they can work and support their families. Maybe the people that supports illegal immigration is effected by negative news reporting’s, and the “Dream Actâ€When you aid and support criminals, you live a criminal life style yourself:

This article tells you one of the big reasons why the NYT is pro illegal:
Mexican Billionaire Invests in Times Company Twitter
By ERIC DASH
Published: January 19, 2009
The New York Times Company said Monday it had reached an agreement with the Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helú for a $250 million loan intended to help the newspaper company finance its businesses.
Under the terms of the deal, Mr. Slim, who already owns 6.9 percent of the Times Company, would invest $250 million in the form of six-year notes with warrants that are convertible into common shares, the company said in a statement. The notes also carry a 14 percent interest rate, with 11 percent paid in cash and 3 percent in additional bonds.
The deal comes as the Times Company looks to raise money amid flagging advertising sales and approaching deadlines to pay back $1.1 billion in debt in the next few years.
The company will use the proceeds from the transaction to refinance its existing debt. One of its two $400 million revolving credit lines is set to expire in May. The $250 million investment should help free some of the company’s borrowing capacity.

The New York Times has been pushing Open Borders, Come And Get It for years. The paper's owners are no different from the owners of other media. They use their outlets to promote an agenda that's good for their corporate CEO pals. The new Mexican connection may make it easier for Americans to see how the media works so hard to limit knowledge of the negative aspects of Open Borders, but the NYT was already pushing an agenda that they would have continued to push.
Thanks to the Demos getting clobbered in the Congressional elections, pro-Americans now have a voice that the media will have to contend with.
