    BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I got three stories. None of this is going to surprise you. It's going to aggravate you but none of it's going to surprise you. (story)"Federal authorities released 11 illegal aliens who were detained during a traffic stop in Annandale, Virginia because immigration officials said they did not pose a threat to the public. 'The 11 passengers were processed and released,' said Ernestine Fobbs, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. 'There were children involved, so it was better that we released them.' Authorities ordered the 11 Mexican nationals, three of whom are children, to return to immigration offices tomorrow for further processing. Ms. Fobbs said officials do not know where the illegals are in the meantime. 'It's up to them whether they come back,' she said. 'If they do not, they will be considered fugitives, and once we do encounter them again, they'll be removed from the United States. They stand to lose a lot if they do not appear.'" This really makes sense. You know, we caught Al Capone the other day but he had a kid with them so we let him go. We told him he better show up tomorrow. If he didn't show up tomorrow, Al Capone is a fugitive and we're going to really get tough if he doesn't turn himself in tomorrow. (story) "In North Carolina is move under an way to offer undocumented immigrants," Doesn't that mean illegal? "in-state tuition rates at North Carolina's public universities and community colleges. A bill introduced yesterday in the North Carolina House would allow illegal students..." undocumented, illegal, whatever, "students to pay in-state tuition at campi if they have attended a North Carolina high school for at least four years and graduated."

I guess they have to pay out-of-state tuition if they don't graduate high school. Is that what this means? What do you mean "if" they graduated? I'm going to infer here that there are some people that don't graduate high school that get into North Carolina college. I thought that was standard for everybody, illegal or legal? "The bill has bipartisan support, 31 cosponsors, prominent business leaders, school superintendents, university faculty backing it. The bill sponsors estimate about 500 to 1300 students could apply each year under the rules. Students would have to meet academic qualifications to enroll. Former Governor Jim Hunt said, 'It may be the most important economic development legislation in the North Carolina General Assembly this year. This bill is to benefit longtime residents of North Carolina, students who have attended our schools, who have done well, that qualified to get into our universities, who we need to have go there. It's morally right. It's economically necessary for our state.'" There will be opposition to this however. They want to offer in-state, which is the lower, tuition rates to the children of illegals, undocumented children themselves.

"Children of undocumented immigrants in North Carolina have difficult pursuing higher education because they're not eligible for federal financial aid, the sponsors of the bill said. They then fall victim to a poor economic future, legislators said, despite their academic talent. 'Are we just going to let 'em graduate from high school and roll off the face of the earth? They need this. This state needs this.' For students to receive the resident tuition benefit, they would have to sign an affidavit stating that they have filed an application for legal immigration status," but they didn't say it has to be approved. They just have to file it out there, which is paperwork, and it's the same thing in Florida. From Tallahassee yesterday: (story) "The best students among the children of illegal migrant farm workers could qualify for in-state tuition rates under a bill passed unanimously Monday by the House education appropriations committee. As it stands now migrant students whose parents are not legal residents of the US are considered out-of-state when it comes to paying tuition. Farm worker advocates say this designation bars many students from going to college because of the high costs of out-of-state credits compared to in-state tuition.

"Under the proposal, the children of illegal migrants could gain in-state status if they've lived in Florida for at least three consecutive years immediately preceding college entrance, if they have been accepted at a community college or university and if they file an affidavit to become a permanent resident. The bill also would limit the number of students who could benefit from the legislation to the top 2,000 high school graduates ranked by academic performance. Karen Woodall, representative of the Farm Worker Association of Florida said that 'although the number of students is limited it will help those good students who otherwise could not afford college. This has a significant impact on the farm worker community and for those students in the top 2,000. It goes a long way to get them into higher education,'" where they'll just end up being indoctrinated, become a bunch of little liberal illegals running around, and so forth. So now there are some states and we had this a couple weeks ago and I don't recall which one. But one state did just the opposite, or it was proposed, a legislator proposed it. It might have been Arizona, but I'm not sure, proposed just the opposite, that illegal students, illegal immigrant students would pay out-of-state tuition, which, of course, is only logical (ahem) which, of course, means it doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.

    BREAK TRANSCRIPT

The Homeland Security Department (story)"arrested 57 illegal immigrants last month, working at airports and other risk-sensitive facilities around the US, underscoring concerns that lax employment background checks are leaving a security breach for terrorists to exploit. In one example a Peruvian was hired as an airplane mechanic in Greensboro, North Carolina using a fake Social Security card he bought for 70 bucks on a soccer field. In another a Florida power plant was hereditary to a Mexican working at its nuclear facility only after being tipped off by labor union employees. None of those arrested appear to have terrorism ties. Nearly all used fraudulent or altered driver's licenses and Social Security cards to obtain security clearances. All of them worked in security-sensitive areas whether beyond passenger-screening checkpoints at airports or in close proximity to nuclear reactors. Marcy Foreman, director of the investigations office at US immigration and Customs Enforcement, said, 'These individuals pose potential vulnerabilities, and because many of them have utilized fraudulent documents we don't know who they are and if they're able to use fraudulent documents what's to keep terrorists and criminals from doing similar things?'" (Chuckle) Well, we've been wondering about this ever since people started to opposing the idea of denying illegal immigrants driver's licenses.

We haven't been able to figure that one out yet. "Hiring illegal workers at secure facilities will likely continue until the government issues a standard employee screening process said P. J. Crowley, analyst at the Center for American Progress, which is a liberal advocacy group. 'Most of these people don't pose a security risk per se but the illegal immigrant today could be someone with nefarious goals tomorrow.'" Really? Well! At least a lib is recognizing it. Meanwhile, from Arizona: "The chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus yesterday declared the Minuteman Project border vigil a success, and invited its organizers to Washington next week to meet with members of Congress. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican said, 'Congratulations on your immensely successful Minuteman Project. By all reports you have accomplished your primary mission, which was to draw public attention to the deplorable and unacceptable conditions on our borders. You have demonstrated that a physical presence on the border will deter illegal crossings and the world can now see this. By the US Border Patrol's count, the apprehensions so far this month are down by more than 50%,'" and don't be fooled by that. That means fewer people are crossing. It doesn't mean that more people are getting in illegally. It just means that fewer people are crossing at the moment.
"This country has lost control of its borders. And no country can sustain that kind of position." .... Ronald Reagan

I'm glad that Rush is finally getting onboard with this. I wish he would really take Bush to task on this issue, but it's a start. Just wanted to comment on this little gem:

Former Governor Jim Hunt said, 'It may be the most important economic development legislation in the North Carolina General Assembly this year. This bill is to benefit longtime residents of North Carolina, students who have attended our schools, who have done well, that qualified to get into our universities, who we need to have go there. It's morally right. It's economically necessary for our state.'" There will be opposition to this however. They want to offer in-state, which is the lower, tuition rates to the children of illegals, undocumented children themselves.
This is suppose to benefit longtime residents of NC how? Residents will not only lose their slots in college to an illegal (who has no legal right to be in this country), but will be forced to pay for their education as well. How are illegals qualified to go to these colleges if they have no legal right to be here? There not even eligible to work in this country, so why are we educating them? Seems like a waste to me if they aren't allowed to be here and work in this country. They shouldn't be attending our schools at all, they should be deported. It's morally right? It's morally right to reward those who broke our laws? Then why do we even have laws then? Why don't we just repeal all of the laws and have total anarchy? Just whatever feels good, do it and have no responsibility or accountability for your actions. That's what you commies want right?

It's economically necessary for the state to reward law breakers with cheap tuition? Then why not give out of state citizens or legal immigrants in-state tuition as well? If it's economically necessary then why not give it to everyone so you have an even better economy? Oh just exposed that lie for what it is. This is nothing more than ethnic pandering at it's very worst.

I think someone with some gonads should ask the tough question to Gov Hunt if he thinks it's economically necessary to reward law breakers cheap tuition then why not come up with some facts to back it up. Ask him why won't he comply with federal law and give in state tuition to everyone including out of state citizens and legal immigrants. Ask him why he feels it's morally right to reward foreign illegals for breaking our laws and yet punish those who have obeyed our laws by denying them the same benefits given to foreign illegals. Come on someone in the media grow a hair on your behind and quit letting these crooks in office get away with making assinine blanket statements like the ones given by Gov Hunt.

    Ex-Governor Hunt

My take on it is that if the illegals go to College, they will eventually become VOTERS. And who would they VOTE for? Whoever helped them get their "by". Ex-Governor Hunt is just trying to help his Party. Isn't he the one that got us in this horrible financial state NC is in now? Seems I read thay in about a hundred newspapers. Course they were NC newspapers which says alot about whether it is true.

I'm sure they can register to vote with the fake legal NC Drivers License they got at NCDMV.

So far as in-state tuition, hasn't anyone figured out that there are not even out-of-state tuition options for them? They're breaking the law by being here in the first place. Let's give them a reward for that and then explain to our children why they go to jail if they break the law. But they'll probably be eligible for grants from our government at tax payer expense. So not only would it be cheaper, it'll probably end up being free! Course I had to mortgage my home so my son could go to College -- with in-state tuition. Not to mention they'll be considered a minority and will get in faster because of the "quotas" our Colleges have to make. That will further push Ameircan children down the ladder of getting into the College of their choice.

Send 'em home, for gosh sakes! We don't need anymore illegal aliens here! They're smart enough obviously. They'be been running rings around our lawmakers for years!
