Immigration reform a 'no-win' issue

Immigration reform a 'no-win' issue

The Arizona Legislature’s passage of a new hard-line anti-immigration law may force both Democrats and Republicans into a place they don’t want to be: dealing with the contentious, no-win issue of immigration reform in the midst of an election year.
The Arizona bill — passed on a party-line vote by the state’s Republican legislators and signed into law by the Republican governor — has come under intense fire from President Barack Obama and other Democrats in Washington.
But the polarizing issue is fraught with peril for both parties — so much so that, when asked about the politics of it all, former Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie paraphrases the words of Democratic New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson: “When immigration is an issue, nobody wins.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

There is nothing good about immigration reform. It's nothing but a grotesque sell out of US citizens by nothing more than Traitors.

Illegals, Deport Them
We do not care what the politicians in Washington, D. C. or other countries think regarding our new law in Arizona. The fact is the illegal aliens are here to use our tax dollars. They go to the hospital for free; their children go to school for free; they get funding for housing, etc. They are illegals. The must not get our money. I am tired of this illegal aliens situation. I support the new law in Arizona and I support the Governor of Arizona. She did the right thing by signing the SB 1070. The courts MUST LISTEN TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. THE COURTS MUST SUPPORT THE NEW LAW. AMERICANS RUN THIS COUNTRY. WE DO NOT CARE WHAT US POLITICIANS SAY ABOUT THIS NEW LAW. THE COURTS AND US POLITIANS IN PARTICULAR SENATOR GRAHAM, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, REP. GUTIERREZ MUST RESPECT THE NEW LAW IN ARIZONA BECAUSE AMERICANS SUPPORT IT. BUY THE WAY, AMERICANS DO NOT SUPPORT AMNESTY FOR ILLEGA ALIENS. WE DO NOT NEED NEW LAWS FOR ILLEGALS. I AM TIRED OF ILLEGAL ALIENS. DEPORT THEM NOW.
POLITICIANS: THE WILL OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC MUST PREVAIL. WE DO NOT WANT ILLEGALS HERE.

Republicans would have nothing to gain by getting on board the Democrats immigration reform train. They would automatically lose the respect of their own constituency and likely be as lame duck as many Democrats will be this November. Amnesty is really "sending up a prayer" for Democrat politicians, facing electorate slaughter ahead.

Graham knows this is their last chance because we are going to blitz them in the 2010 elections and without their illegal alien army on the way to becoming voters, they are in deep trouble from angry Americans.

All of these MSM reports just talk about the (debatable) politics of pushing amnesty, and rarely discuss much less focus on how very irresponsible pushing amnesty is, such as:
1) our southern border still wide open and getting more dangerous daily.
2) The Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security states his agency could not handle millions of amnesty applications, and this would cause the "mother of all backlogs."
3) this talk of an amnesty push is encouraging more illegal immigration.
4) our official unemployment rate is around 10% (with the U-6 rate much higher), and illegal aliens ARE taking jobs from vulnerable American citizens.
5) the Heritage Foundation estimates the 2007 ammesty bill would have imposed a net burden of at least $2.6 TRILLION on American taxpayers; the cost of any amnesty would likely be higher now. This at a time when we have record annual deficits which our *esteemed* reps in Washington D.C. keep reminding us of.
6) related to #5 above, if illegal aliens are legalized this would destroy the CBO assumptions for the recently passed health care "reform," and this would effectively break Obama's promise (surprise) that IA's wouldn't be covered in the health reform.
7) we were assured that the 1986 "comprehensive reform" amnesty would be the last.
8 ) Harry Reid is apparently willing to put this country through such a divisive and way premature debate just to try to save his political hide.
I'm impatiently waiting for the media to focus on any of the above points -- including Stephen Dinan from the Washington Times whose reporting on "immigration" seems to have gone south recently.
