Immigration Tidbits [Mark Krikorian]

* Ted Kennedy's former top immigration aide will direct policy at DHS. (And you thought all Cubans were conservatives.)

* The Indiana Senate has approved one of the toughest state immigration laws in the country.

* New report from DHS shows that "While the foreign-born population represented 12.5 percent of the total U.S. population, foreign-born individuals accounted for 27.1 percent of the uninsured population."

* Leftist congressmen Luis Gutierrez (who called immigration officers "Gestapo agents") starts a 17-city amnesty tour on Friday.
