The 18-year-old man accused of firing three bullets into a Gresham home -- one of which grazed a sleeping 2-year-old boy Sunday -- told police he shot the rifle because his friends dared him to.

Multnomah County court documents filed Wednesday accuse Angel Leonardo Munoz of felony assault with a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm and recklessly endangering another person.

Police arrested Munoz on Tuesday. Detectives received a tip from the owner of the .22-caliber rifle, documents say.

The owner of the gun did not live with Munoz and did not give permission for the gun to be taken, Sgt. Michael LeDuc, a Gresham Police Department spokesman, said Wednesday.

Court documents say the shooter fired into a home, in the 4800 block of West Powell Boulevard, knowing he could possibly injure someone.

"He claimed he fired on a dare from his friends," according to the court documents, filed by the District Attorney's office.

Munoz turned 18 in September.

A call to Multnomah County Justice Center confirmed that Leonardo Munoz is on an ICE immigration hold.

How do you know he's an illegal alien? I read the entire story and his status is not mentioned anywhere. It's dangerous to make an assumption like that.

A local talk show host in Portland called the Sheriff's office on the air today to confirm a tip he got from an officer who was involved in the investigation. I heard the interview directly.

Gresham, Ore. now sounds like the "wild, wild west" (see also "Police Quell Riot at the GSI Community Center"), which you don't usually associate with states like Oregon and Washington.

"Possibly injure someone" is an understatement. A .22 bullet does not just penetrate - it zig-zags and slices as it goes in. This kid, legal or not is a first class idiot. Throw the book at him and if he's an IA, throw him out of this country.

Gresham, especially the previously working class Rockwood neighborhood, has become a bonafide third world craphole.

I have a friend who is a patrol officer and ERT member with Gresham PD. He says that illegals have created so many problems that they've had to add several new officers and create a gang task force to deal with these criminals.

Coincidentally, Gresham is now a hotbed of meth dealing and ID theft. Some coincidence, huh?

For this story to be presented as if it factually contains an illegal alien factor, ALIPAC must have some kind of direct sourcing.

Please find us a source or an audio copy of the talk show archives or something we can use to substantiate that this shooter is an illegal.
