Infant found in Phoenix motel to be flown to parents in Mexico

PHOENIX -- A baby girl found abandoned in a Phoenix motel room early this month will be reunited with her parents in Mexico Thursday afternoon, the Mexican Consulate announced.

Erendira Lucero Larios was separated from her parents, brought to the U.S. from Mexico and was in the care of a 23-year-old man who left her alone in a Motel 6 on May 3.

Motel housekeepers notified authorities after they discovered 4-month-old Erendira alone and crying on a bed in a room registered to Miguel Ramos-Lopez, who had been staying there for at least five days.

Police said the baby showed no signs of trauma, and she has been in the care of child welfare officials.

DNA tests confirmed the parents were Laura Candelaria Santana-Diaz and Juan Jesus Larios-Ramos, and they are waiting to be reunited with Erendira in Guadalajara, according to the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix.

The baby will be flown to Guadalajara from Phoenix Thursday afternoon by members of the consulate's protection department.

Police arrested Ramos-Lopez on a misdemeanor count of child neglect. He is an undocumented immigrant and slated for deportation once legal proceedings are complete.

Some parents these people are leaving their baby with this guy who then abandons the baby in a Motel and bolts. These kind of people place no value on their children if they lose one or two they just have more. It amazes me

Yup, life is cheap in Mexico.

Check this out. They have the name of the baby and parents all wrong in one of these articles. It doesn't look like the Mexican Consulate knows who this child is.
