Remarks: Laurean is a United States Marine Corps Corporal currently assigned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Laurean may be driving a four-door 2004 Dodge Ram truck, black in color, displaying North Carolina license plate TRR1522.

CAUTION
Cesar Armando Laurean is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of 20-year-old Maria Lauterbach, who was pregnant at the time of her murder. Lauterbach was a United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal assigned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She had been missing since December 14, 2007. Charred remains have been recovered in a shallow grave in the backyard of Laurean's Jacksonville, North Carolina, residence. The remains are believed to be those of Lauterbach and her unborn infant.

A state arrest warrant was issued on January 12, 2008, in Onslow County, North Carolina, after Laurean was charged with murder. That same day, Laurean was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the United States District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina, Wilmington, North Carolina, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest.

Huh?????

Late last night I was watching FOX and a reporter from Jacksonville was being interviewed. I thought he gave Laurean's nationality as not originally US but I can't find any reference to it anywhere this morning.

I think it was CNN this morning they said they thought he was heading to Mexico. His parents are in LasVegas (Nevada for sure) and if I understood it correctly....they also felt he was headed to Mexico. They did everything but say he was illegal or at the least not a full fledged American citizen. They said he was fluent in Spanish. Just strange info for a typical legal American citizen in the service on the run.

Why are the Marines allowing foreign nationals to join the service?
Divided loyalties do not make good Marines.

Unfortunately, if this Univision report is correct, they do recruit Nationals from other countries:

The U.S. government is reportedly attempting to play an interesting game of tit for tat. It's offering undocumented Mexican immigrants a free pass to citizenship if they agree to fight for the U.S. in Iraq. Univision reports:

The U.S. government is carrying out recruitment campaigns aimed at Mexicans, mostly without papers, who are interested in going to the war in Iraq in exchange for citizenship, according to the El Universal newspaper.

Ildefonso Ortiz Cabrera told the Mexican newspaper that he received the "invitation" when he was living in Phoenix, Arizona. He then decided to return to El Burrión, a town in Northern Sinaloa.

Isn't it ironic that the government invites undocumented immigrants to fight but then forgets about the families of soldiers who have already done time in Iraq? Perhaps they know they probably won't ever have to make good on the citizenship offer, since some won't make it back alive.

Questionable policies? Putting your life on the line will bring you citizenship? (whether status is legal immigrant or illegal alien)??

I just heard he could possible be an illegal immigrant on fox news...shouldn't his parents know that?....and are his parents illegal?

You mean they would take him in the military and not even know where he was born

Our military is evidently getting very desperate.
