    POSTED: 9:52 am EDT July 20, 2006

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. -- Marshall County authorities have charged a man already jailed in neighboring DeKalb County with killing a man whose body was dismembered, burned and buried under a shed near Crossville. The body was found July 11th.

DeKalb County Sheriff Cecil Reed said 24-year-old Alberto Trejo is charged with the murder of Antonio Paz. Authorities said the victim apparently had been shot in Marshall County and his body was buried in concrete in DeKalb County.

    No motive was given.

Trejo, according to investigators, is an illegal alien and was awaiting a deportation hearing. Now, he'll be returned to DeKalb County to face a murder charge.

GUNTERSVILLE - Marshall County authorities Wednesday charged a DeKalb County Jail inmate in the shooting death of a man whose body found buried last week in concrete.

Alberto Trejo, age unknown, was charged with murder, said Marshall County District Attorney Steve Marshall. He said Trejo had been living in Geraldine, but allegedly entered the country illegally from Mexico. Marshall also said Trejo had previously been deported to Mexico.

Trejo is accused of killing a man, who was also believed to have entered the country illegally, Marshall said. He said authorities believe to the victim's name is Antonio Paz but DNA testing will be done to confirm his identity.

Marshall said it's believed the Trejo and Paz were stepbrothers. He said Trejo was in jail on previous charges in DeKalb County and he had a felony drug conviction.

Marshall said the victim died in Marshall County from a rifle shot and then was taken to DeKalb County where he was buried.

Marshall County Sheriff Mac Holcomb said the victim was dismembered and burned after he was killed. DeKalb County Sheriff Cecil Reed said his investigators found the victim buried in a shed behind a home outside Crossville.

Marshall said he cannot yet discuss a motive in the killing.

"But it will probably be next week before anything else comes about in the case," he said.
