Interesting: AP Story about NC Hispanics runs in GA?

This is interesting folks. This is the AP Wire story and so far it is only running in one paper in GA?

Study: Hispanics hurt wages while increasing spending
    by the Associated Press

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.E. - Hispanics fill one in three new jobs in North Carolina and pump about $9 billion into the state's economy as consumers and taxpayers, but a new study shows something else as well.

The study indicates that the influx of Hispanics to the state has held wages down by nearly $2 billion.

The low wages help contain business labor costs and ultimately keep consumer prices down, the study says. But many Hispanic workers are illegal, and labor groups argue that those workers displace or hold down the wages of low-skilled American workers.

The study is billed as the first comprehensive attempt to gauge the impact of the Hispanic population on the state's economy.

It was conducted over a 13-month period by the University of North Carolina's Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise.

A spokesman for Americans for Legal Immigration says the study helps illustrate that business leaders are behind a boom in illegal immigration, which feeds their need for low-wage workers.
