Man charged with sex crimes involving teenager

An illegal Mexican immigrant living in Hope Mills has been charged with sex crimes involving a teenage girl.

Erick Cisneros-Zavala, 25, of the 4800 block of South Main Street, was arrested Friday at a home he shared with a relative, according to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Bail was set at $15,000, according to the release.

He was charged with statutory rape, statutory sex offense against a child and taking indecent liberties with a child.

Investigators said the offenses occurred Thursday with a 14-year-old girl.

Debbie Tanna, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, said Cisneros-Zavala was reported to the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
