Judge dismisses parts of 1 AZ. immigration challenge
Judge dismisses parts of 1 immigration challenge

PHOENIX - A federal judge on Friday dismissed parts of one of the remaining five lawsuits that challenge Arizona's new immigration law.
But the ruling by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton also keeps alive other claims in the lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union and other civil rights groups.
The ruling on Friday doesn't affect Bolton's July decision in a separate lawsuit by the U.S. Justice Department that put parts of the law on hold.
Two of the seven challenges to the law have been dismissed in their entirety.
The partial dismissal of the civil rights groups' lawsuit was requested by Gov. Jan Brewer, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu and Pinal County Attorney James Walsh.

It would have been nice if the article had given more info on what was dismissed.

I've been looking.

It doesn't say much but it does say that the part complaining that "immigrants" right to travel and speak a foreign language was being infringed on has been taken out.
I also really like the related article posted at the bottom titled "Arizona Is A Haven For Refugees."

This is most certainly true but once again citizens are angry that monies are given to refugees to obtain homes when it is too out of reach for lifelong hard workers of the citizen kind. This sentiment has been around for a long time. However, for most people this article, published by the liberal NYT, helps us to combat the misnomer that we are prejudice. We have a large international community here that has come here legally and invited. It is those that come illegally that we are not happy about.Restitution to Displaced Citizens First!

I agree that refugees should not be given homes when hard working citizens can't manage to get one. The bleeding hearts are prejudice against citizens. We do owe many refugees in a huge way since it is our own governments interference in many cases that created their status but it is still not fair to citizens and therefore creates hate, prejudice and divisiveness. Just as all the small business opportunities and franchises are given to immigrants from around the globe but citizens never have the same opportunity. Your local gas station, the corner store, the tobacco store, the pizza shop - we say nothing but the obvious has created an anger that I doubt can be quenched once it blows. And I truly believe that the only reason it hasn't blown yet is because people realize that is playing right into the wrong hands. But blow it will. There is only so long you can redistribute wealth like that and this one has been going on for years - lifetimes.
