DENVER (AP) - Immigration is front and center at the Colorado Capitol Monday, when hundreds of Latinos plan an annual gathering to lobby lawmakers.

This year's "Latina/o Advocacy Day" is expected to draw hundreds. The state's first Latino lieutenant governor, Joe Garcia, will address residents. The pop band Flobots also planned to attend.

The gathering has no specific agenda, but the activists gathered are likely to be talking about immigration. Republicans in the Legislature have proposed immigration crackdowns, while Democrats in the Senate are talking about making it easier for residents who are illegal immigrants to go to state colleges and universities at in-state rates.
