Jury Convicts Man Of Threatening To Kill ICE Agents

A federal jury found a 26-year-old Oklahoma man guilty of threatening to assault, kill and gun down federal immigration officers in posts on social media, according to a statement.

Logan Christopher Murfin of Skiatook was convicted on 10 federal counts, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma. The jury found him guilty on five counts of threatening to assault and kill federal law enforcement officers and another five counts of interstate communication of threats. Homeland Security Investigations personnel flagged Murfin’s posts on X, made under the handle “Azulenq,” after receiving an intelligence tip in October 2025, according to evidence presented before the jury.

Search warrants tied the account to Murfin, who was posting from his home. A grand jury indicted him on December 2025. Following his arrest, Murfin told agents he was angry and “pissed off” at ICE officers and acknowledged authoring the posts, according to the DOJ. A recording of the interview was presented to the trial jury.

“Threatening to kill hard-working federal law enforcement officers will not be tolerated,” U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson said. “In the Northern District of Oklahoma, we will prosecute those who do to the fullest extent that federal law allows.”

Before trial, a federal judge rejected Murfin’s attempt to have the case thrown out on First Amendment grounds. Judge Gregory Frizzell ruled that a reasonable jury could view the posts as genuine threats of violence rather than protected political speech, according to federal court documents obtained by Reason.

He posted multiple threats against federal offices, according to the documents. “Need too start shooting these ‘just following orders’ pigs. Ice agents are reenacting ww2 nazi germany and its not acceptable. Only good ice terrorist is buried 6 feet under,” he posted, records show.

The documents said Murfin also wrote, “but we as US citizens should be gunning down these domestic terrorists. All ice gestapo can not use the ‘just following orders’ excuse. If you’re complicit in this act you’ve gotta be executed for this act.”

Murfin was taken into custody following the verdict, according to the DOJ release. He was on bond before the trial began. A sentencing date has not been set.

Murfin’s prosecution fits an alleged pattern of escalating hostility toward immigration agents. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in October 2025 the death threats against ICE personnel had surged 8,000%, with officers also facing bounties, doxxing and threats targeting their families, according to a DHS press release.
