King, Miller Statement on Obama Administration Decision to Limit Enforcement of Federal Immigration Laws
    Media Contact: (202) 226-8417
    Aug 19, 2011

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, and Rep. Candice Miller (R-MI), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security, issued the following statement in response to the Obama Administration’s Thursday announcement that it would limit enforcement of federal immigration laws:

“This new non-enforcement policy announced by the Obama Administration Thursday is a blatant attempt to grant amnesty to potentially millions of illegal aliens in this country, and is totally unacceptable.

“In reality, this decision to vastly expand the exercise of ‘prosecutorial discretion’ in enforcing our federal immigration laws means that the Administration will now be, in a huge number of cases, simply ignoring those laws.

“The President and members of his Administration must enforce this nation’s laws, just as they have sworn in their oaths of office to do.

“On July 25, in a speech to the National Council of La Raza, the President himself said, ‘I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own…but that’s not how our system works…That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.’ Apparently the President’s understanding of how our system of government works has changed since last month.â€

Smith: Administration Intent on Granting Backdoor Amnesty

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Department of Homeland Security announced the creation of a new working group that will begin a case-by-case review of illegal immigrants in removal proceedings and with a final order of removal to determine if those individuals should be removed to the agency’s discretion. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) released the statement below in response to the Administration’s announcement.

Chairman Smith: “The Administration has again made clear its plan to grant backdoor amnesty to illegal immigrants. They have created a working group that appears to have the specific purpose of overruling, on a ‘case-by-case’ basis, an immigration court’s final order of removal, or preventing that court from even issuing such an order.

“The Obama administration should enforce immigration laws, not look for ways to ignore them. The Obama administration should not pick and choose which laws to enforce. Administration officials should remember the oath of office they took to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land.â€

    KING OBAMA

Our main concerns now are to push impeachment, vote Obama out of office (if not impeached), vote out all democrats, tell the republicans not to give him anything and insist the republicans find a way to overturn what Obama has done.

We need to choose a candidate and work hard to get him, or her, elected. Once Obama is out of office, all the damage he has done, can be reversed.

This was heartbreaking news but WE THE PEOPLE will not be defeated.
