Man pleads guilty in prostitution case

A Mexican man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Columbia federal court to transporting a 14-year-old girl across state lines and prostituting her, according to a U.S. attorneys office news release.

Ciro Bustos-Rosales, 35, an illegal immigrant, faces a minimum of 10 years and maximum of life in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking a minor and harboring illegal immigrants for prostitution, federal court documents show.

Bustos-Rosales was one of three people indicted on federal charges of conspiring to bring the girl and three other Mexican women to the United States to work at prostitution businesses in Columbia and Charlotte, which allegedly started operating in July 2006, records show.
