Kristi Noem visits site where illegal migrant allegedly set sleeping woman on fire in NYC

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Wednesday reportedly visited the site where a sleeping woman was allegedly set on fire by an illegal Guatemalan migrant, during a trip to New York City.

The incident reportedly took place at the Stillwell Avenue Subway station in Coney Island last December, where the woman was sleeping on a stationary train, the New York Police Department said at the time.

Noem, who has been traveling across the country with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, confirmed that she was in New York City on Wednesday, but did not comment on her appearance at the station.

"Met with law enforcement officials this morning in NYC," Noem wrote in a post on X. "Those who are in this country WILL be tracked down, prosecuted and not allowed to return. If aliens voluntarily leave now, they may have the opportunity to return the right, legal way and live the American dream. If they don’t, they will face the inevitable consequences."

Noem was also seen visiting the US Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma vessel at Pier 88 in Manhattan, according to the New York Post, where she was photographed with ICE, Coast Guard and NYPD officials.

The suspect in the attack has been charged with arson and murder.
