4 charged with obstruction held for immigration officials


Employees at a Market Street business identified one man as previously paying with a counterfeit $20.

BOARDMAN — Police arrested four men on charges of obstructing official business and they are being held for immigration officials.

Police were called early Friday to Dunkin Donuts, Market Street, on a report that four men, one of whom was believed to have passed a counterfeit bill earlier this month at the store, had returned.

Police didn't find any counterfeit money in the men's possession, but they didn't have identification that could be verified.

One of the men carried a wallet that contained a Mexican identification under one name and a fake Indiana driver's license under a different name.

Another carried an Ohio residence identification card that he got from the Internet under one name while a pay stub, which he said belonged to a friend, was under a different name.

Another had a Mexican identification card and an Ohio residence identification card with different names listed.

They were identified as Ricardo Cruz-Estrada, 20, and Alejandro Cruz-Estrada, 22, both of Barberton, and Roberto Palacios Jr., 18, and Jacinto Leonardo-Fuentos, 34, both of Kenmore Avenue, Youngstown.

Because of the different names provided to police, all were charged with obstructing official business. Palacios also was charged with criminal simulation after a store employee identified him as the person who used a counterfeit $20 to pay for merchandise.

All four were lodged in the Mahoning County Justice Center.

So what no charge for the fake ID?

Typical. One bogus name used to work, and one bogus name used to obtain taxpayer funded freebies. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the names the arresting cops finally settled on are bogus as well.
