Arizona Students Protest Mexican-American Studies Curriculum Change:

Rowdy students took over a big Tucson school board meeting in protest on Tuesday.

It was described as a pretty wild scene -- and it's all over a Mexican-American studies class, a class that teaches history from a Mexican-American perspective.

The governing board of the Tucson Unified School District was supposed to consider a plan that would make the class an elective, rather than a required class, like it is now.

A state law passed in December basically discouraged the classes, saying they segregate students. The group that showed up in protest wanted no part of it.

They took over the room, chanted "fight back," and basically ran the governing board out of the meeting.

Security tried to come in and tried to take the students away, but many of them apparently chained themselves together.

This isn't over though. The governing board is going to re-schedule its meeting to decide the fate of the classes.

They should ALL be expelled from school for pulling that stupid stunt! What's next?? Violence against the staff if they don't get their way?? Thank Obama for letting their parents into our Country! Now we got a whole breed of hoodlums demanding that Mexicans take over! Just sickening!!!

Acting like that is not going to help their cause. If anything it probably hurt them.
