[quote]I make the distinction between authorized and unauthorized migrants above only because there are nativists in the U.S. that make a living off saying they are “anti-ILLEGAL immigrant, not anti-immigrantâ€

So you want the U.S. to obey the law, except when it comes to enforcing immigration laws. I think you have uncovered the root of the problem, if everyone obeyed the law (including immigrants) we wouldn't have this problem would we?
Nonfeasance of office, the refusal to do that which should be done. Officials do not enforce the law, grounds for dismissal and prosecution for refusing to do what they were hired to do!

Ironically, it’s these enforcement-heavy policies that are to blame for the ballooning unauthorized migrant population. As studies have shown, it’s not the increasing numbers of unauthorized migrants coming in, but the inability of unauthorized migrants to get out that has forced millions to reside within the U.S for longer periods of time. The symbolism of a proposed wall along the U.S.’s southern border rings true. The U.S. is walling itself in, not keeping the rest of the world out.
Oh please! It's common knowledge that LACK of enforcement has caused the illegal alien invasion. We WANT them OUT, there's nothing stopping them from leaving the US, except themselves. The millions of illegal aliens residing here do so because of the entitlements they get, no other reason. It's not the work they're after, it's the freebies. Witness their overbreeding habits once they arrive in the US.

If a U.S. citizen were to die of medical neglect in a Chinese prison it would be an international incident.
What about the American tourists who die in Mexico because their hospitals refuse to give them any emergency treatment unless they pay in cash, in full, up front before they receive any medical care? You never hear about it from our lamestream media, but people traveling to Mexico who need to go to the ER while there are required to pay first before they get any medical help. If you don't have cash in hand to pay for the full cost of any treatment, they'll just let you bleed to death on the waiting room floor, without batting an eyelash.

No dinero, no medico, tough luck gringo.

That's the attitude in Mexico, and we're not talking abuout those in custody, these are people who legally visit Mexico to vacation and spend money there. But I doubt La Prensa will mention that little fact.
