I have issues with many of the ones inline for legal citizenship;during WWII many Filipinos fought side by side with Americans and had it not been for them MacArthur would've never been able to succesfully escape with his life. They lost 10 times the amount of men not to mention women, children, the elderly and the sick compared to American soldiers during the Bataan Death March. The Filipino guerillas that helped save many American lives were guaranteed citizenship at the end of the war. Most have died without citizenship. Most survivors are still waiting an d the limited few that have received their citizenship have done so with an asterisk. They don't have the same benefits as say a legal immigrant from elsewhere. And of the ones that are survivors I see many that have to put their pensions together to rent a rat infested hotel room. Some work security jobs even at their advanced age to make ends meet.Their country was part of our overseas possesions at the time of the war and any of them that fought on our side then should get citizenship before anyone on the waiting list.
