Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents interdicted a human smuggling attempt

LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents working their assigned duties interdicted a human smuggling attempt yielding the apprehension of five migrants.

On Jan. 3, Border Patrol agents while working their assigned duties observed a raft in the Rio Grande. Agents responded and observed a black vehicle leaving the area.

With the assistance of Texas DPS, the vehicle was immobilized, leading to several people absconding from the vehicle.

Border Patrol agents were able to apprehend a total of five people and they were taken to the Laredo South Station for processing. Record checks revealed they were in the country illegally from Mexico.

All subjects were processed according to their individual immigration status.
