Immigration authorities apprehended at least 67 illegal immigrants in an afternoon raid today in southeast Houston.
Houston police contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials at about 12:30 p.m. today to tell them there appeared to be illegal activity taking place at the offices of Super Express Van Tours on 1311 Garland and a nearby residence at 7009 Schley, said ICE spokeswoman Luisa Deason.
After arriving at the scene, ICE officials detained 67 illegal immigrants, including Brazilians, Mexicans, Hondurans and Salvadorans, Deason said. Half a dozen juveniles also were taken into custody, the youngest about 12 years old, she said.
Investigators were still at the scene this evening and it is too early to determine what charges might be filed in the case or whether there are any smugglers among the group, Deason said.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Dozens of illegal immigrants arrested in raid
By Jeff McShan
March 1, 2007
While politicians continue to debate over how to fix America's illegal immigration problem, the men and women who enforce the law have their hands full.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of people cross our borders illegally every day.
Sixty-seven of them were found in southeast Houston Thursday.
The group included 27 men, 20 women and 20 juveniles.
Some of the people taken into custody may have been smugglers or coyotes.
The investigation began after a routine traffic stop by HPD.
Traffic Enforcement officers noticed something wasn't quite right inside a business and the home next door where there were surveillance cameras present.
They called ICE or Immigration Customs Enforcement.
Agents say they found the illegal immigrants hiding inside the home and business in the 1300 block of Garland.
The business is called Super Express. It's a so-called tour bus company that advertises trips to dozens of cities all across the United States.
Sources told 11 News that Super Express is nothing but a hub for illegal, undocumented workers.
They are allegedly brought to Houston by coyotes before the Super Express vans drive them to various final destinations.
Instead, they were all handcuffed and taken to an illegal immigrant prison facility up near George Bush Intercontinental Airport. They will be processed and eventually deported back to their home countries.
An ICE spokesperson said the immigrants came from Brazil, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador.
As for the business, sources say there are about 90 companies like it in the Houston area. Many of them allegedly make a profit transporting illegals around the country.
In fact, Super Express is still operating even though ICE and HPD made a bust there in 2004.Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....

ICE needs to do raids on all the companies. With the thousands of illegals pouring into the country every day, every law enforcement office should be allowed to check status everytime the stop someone, investigate a crime, etc.
