Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, May 29, 2008

Tonight, while the Democratic candidates look ahead to the
remaining primaries the Barack Obama camp says it’s ready to
declare victory. What’s next in the presidential race? We’ll
have that story, and full coverage of the Pentagon’s
announcement that more than 100 soldiers committed suicide last
year. Plus:

* A new report by the International Federation of Technical and
Professional Engineers blasts the Pentagon’s decision to award
a $35 billion tanker contract to a European aerospace
consortium. The union says the government sent 44,000 jobs
overseas for a less capable and more expensive tanker.

* Skyrocketing gas prices aren’t just hurting consumers at the
pump. Small businesses and schools are feeling the pain too.
Most workers in this country are employed by small businesses
and more than 90 percent of new jobs are created by small
business each year.

* Just like oil prices, world food prices are on the rise,
causing global food shortages and straining family budgets.
Many argue that China and India are responsible the run up in
prices. But one expert says the U.S. agricultural policy, which
keeps production down, is to blame for the shocking prices.

* As deadly drug violence surges along our Southern border with
Mexico, U.S. border state governors and their Mexican
counterparts met in Mexico City today to discuss ways to combat
the violent drug cartels and escalating violence.
