The question is now that the american has voiced their opinions in newspapers, web sites, etc., is there anybody listening?
Is this all falling on deaf ears? If so, we for sure DO NOT have a democracy and we need to change the whole system ASAP!

    Proud teacher

I am writing in reaction to the student protests that have occurred the past two weeks.

I have to tell you how proud I am of our students! Although I would like to have them in class, there are life lessons to be learned from the experience of standing up for your beliefs and letting your voice be heard by your government that cannot be taught in the classroom, no matter how gifted the teacher. . . . .

Why is it now considered unpatriotic to voice dissent against our government's policies? It was once the highest form of patriotism that one could express.

To the patriotic students of the Clark County School District: I am proud of you for acting from your conscience and having the audacity to voice what you believe to be right and moral. (Just don't get any more unexcused absences!)
I think we can see the problem --- this teacher talks about 'their government' and patriotism -- if they are illegal aliens, this is NOT their government and how patriotic is it to fly Mexican flags and tell the gringo to go back to Europe?
