A 21-year-old Novato man, already in custody on unrelated charges, also is suspected of rape, unlawful intercourse with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Novato police.

Armando Gil, who is in Marin County Jail on an Immigration and Naturalization hold, is suspected in a Sept. 26 incident involving a 15-year-old girl at a residence on Oliva Drive.

Novato police Lt. Jim Laveroni said police were still investigating the incident and the possible involvement of another suspect.

Laveroni said Gil also could be charged stemming from an Oct. 15 arrest by Novato authorities. He is suspected of making criminal threats, exhibiting a deadly weapon, obstructing a police officer, vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon in that case.
