    IN BRIEF/LOS ANGELES COUNTY/LOS ANGELES
Mayor, Chief Endorse Driver's License Bill
From Times Staff and Wire Reports

    September 15, 2006

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Police Chief William J. Bratton on Thursday endorsed a proposed state law that would give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, though the licenses could not be used for general identification.

They appeared with the bill's sponsor, state Sen. Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles). Bratton said the much-revised bill meets public safety standards.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to veto it, however. He repealed a version after his election in 2003 and has vetoed two variations since then.

I wouldn't expect any less from Mr MeCha Villagarosa. I think he considers himself the regional Governor of Aztlan.

What do you need to register to vote in CA? A CADL?

In NC, that's all you need to commit a felony & register
    to vote.
