Reported by: Cristina Rendon
Last Update: 6:20 pm
LOS INDIOS - Federal officials are allowing people to cross into Mexico again after a shootout in Mexico just across from Los Indios.
The Los Indios International Bridge reopened Wednesday afternoon, but authorities are still on guard.
A gunbattle broke out Wednesday morning in Lucio Blanco, Mexico, a small town just across the border of Los Indios, south of San Benito. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials shut down the bridge around noon. It was too dangerous to let anyone cross.
“Reports that we heard from travelers are that there are injured or deceased on the ground, but we haven't received any official confirmation from Mexican authorities,â€NO AMNESTY

Los Indios Still on Edge After Shootout Just Across Border
Reported by: Cristina Rendon
Last Update: 5/18 7:17 pm
LOS INDIOS - The small community of Los Indios is on edge. They say the violence in Mexico is breaking out too close to home.
The Los Indios International Bridge is back open to traffic. It was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a reported shootout just across the border. Folks in this area are still shaken up.
Travelers like Alejandro Juarez are surprised by a gunbattle here. He and his family were trying to get into Mexico through what he considers one the border's calmest crossings.
“I think this is the safest way to go to Mexico because Valle Hermoso is right there, and it's the shortest. You can cross in five minutes or less,â€NO AMNESTY
