Lou Dobbs Tonight
Friday, October 10, 2008

Tonight, we’ll have full coverage of the economic crisis, and
what our leaders in Washington D.C. are doing, or not doing to
rescue investors from mounting losses. Our nation’s trade
deficit dipping to $59-million in August as import prices
decline. Chief among those price declines, oil which has
plummeted over the week. Plus:

* The government has doled out billions and billions for Fannie
Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, Bear Stearns and the rest of the parade
of failed mega-businesses in this country. It’s shelling out
another $850 billion to bail out Wall Street. The Federal
Reserve has made a series of emergency rate cuts. And, needless
to say, none of it has restored investor confidence in this
country. The Dow just yesterday had its third-biggest point
drop in history.

* The community activist group ACORN is facing a barrage of
serious charges of voter fraud and electoral tampering. Five
states have opened investigations into the legality of its
voter registration drives, and some of ACORN’s employees have
actually been convicted of voter fraud. The community group has
said it has done nothing wrong, and the Obama campaign has
denied any links to ACORN, but both claims are proving to be
untrue.

* There is mounting evidence that our electoral system is being
corrupted. We’ve reported extensively on this broadcast about
fraudulent voter registrations–ineligible persons (such as
illegal aliens) and even people who don’t exist registering to
vote. But the opposite problem is also affecting our elections.
Legitimate, citizen voters are being unfairly purged from voter
rolls in key swing states.
