Presidential Candidates' Campaign Managers to Meet Hispanic Pastors

WASHINGTON, June 24 --The Rev. Luis Cortes, Jr., President of Esperanza, the largest Hispanic Evangelical network in the United States, announced that the presidential candidates' campaign managers will meet with Hispanic pastors and community leaders from across the country at the Town Hall Meetings. This is one of the events of the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference, taking place on Wednesday, June 25 at 9:00 a.m. at the J.W. Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C.

The Town Hall Meetings will provide two separate forums with question and answer sessions. David Plouffe -- manager for the Obama for President campaign, and Rick Davis -- Manager for the John McCain 2008 campaign will have the opportunity to present their candidates' platforms to the group of Hispanic pastors and community leaders from the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference and address their questions and concerns.

Since 2002, Esperanza has annually scheduled over 75 visits to Capitol Hill for 300 Hispanic pastors and community leaders to meet with their members of Congress and discuss immigration reform, among other important issues for Hispanics, as part of the activities of the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference. "Given that this is a presidential election year, we decided that instead of going to the Hill to advocate, our national representatives should come to us," said the Rev. Luis Cortes, Jr. "The Town Hall Meetings will give us the opportunity to advocate for the needs of Latinos in the country and collectively influence our leaders to make positive changes for our community".

Each year, the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference gathers over 750 Hispanic clergy members of different denominations and leaders of community organizations, representing a broad spectrum of the national Latino community. This three-day annual conference offers a time of prayer and celebration, in addition to a forum for advocacy for the issues that most concern Hispanics in the country. Tinybob, yeah and it makes me wonder why this man is likely still getting his tax-exemption status?

However, overall, this does not surprise me about these two candidates. They will sell their souls and this nation of the can, to garner the votes of what they perceive as the future Hispanic votes, that is why they are courting them now and promising them amnesty, in hopes they will vote Republican/Democrat in the future.

Never about what's right, only about what the politicians want anymore....makes me angry and sick at the same time.
