    Lou Dobbs Tonight
    Friday July 25, 2008

Tonight, a new report finds that Small Business Administration
contracts aimed at genuine small businesses are being handed
out to massive Fortune 500 corporations like Xerox and John
    Deere.

We’ll have that story, and all the day’s news from around the
    country. Plus:

    * The largest salmonella outbreak in a decade has cost the U.S.
food industry millions of dollars in losses. But, manufacturers
and processors got what they asked for. After all, they lobbied
fervently against electronic tracking systems for their
products. Had those systems been in place today, investigators
may have been able to more quickly track the source of the
current salmonella outbreak and saved the industry from this
    costly downfall.

    * UBS and LGT Bank of Liechtenstein are under scrutiny for
helping clients dodge taxes in this country. A Senate committee
released a scathing report that accuses the banks helping
wealthy Americans evade billions of dollars in taxes, leaving
hard-working middle class families of course to shoulder the
    tax burden.

    * California’s budget crisis is escalating. The deficit is so
bad that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger could cut state worker
pay to minimum wage. And Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado sent a
letter today to Schwarzenegger to urge him to look into the
millions of dollars spent on illegal aliens in California in
light of the massive budget shortfalls.

    * And in our weekly tribute to the men and women who serve our
nation in uniform, we’ll have the story of Army Capt. Ivan
Castro. Castro was blinded by a mortar explosion while serving
in Iraq in September of 2006. But he was he was determined to
keep serving his country. He's now the executive officer in his
Special Forces Company and works to keep the troops in the
field well supplied and to families of troops who are deployed.
