More turmoil on Wall Street today, but in a speech, President
Bush counseled against significant federal intervention. He
also said NAFTA has been a boon for the U.S. and called for
more sovereign wealth fund investment in U.S. institutions.

* All three leading presidential candidates actually showed up
for work yesterday—joining in round-the clock budget votes in
the Senate. We’ll take a look at what their votes say about how
they’ll handle immigration.

* David Olofson, an Army veteran and father of three, was
convicted of federal felony gun charges for “transferring a
