Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, October 18, 2007
Tonight, another disappointment for Nancy Pelosi and the
Democrats in Congress. A more than three-week effort to
overturn President Bush’s veto of the State Children’s Health
Insurance Program expansion has failed, with the Democrats only
a handful of votes and falling well short of the 13 defections
they needed to override the veto. Is Bush picking up late-term
strength or are the Democrats just unable to accomplish
anything? And what happens next? Tune in for all the details
and the rest of the news from across the country and around the
world.
The Department of Homeland Security is building a fence along
our southern border with steel pipe imported from China. Rep.
Phil English and steel industry advocates in Congress are
outraged that Homeland Security has sold out struggling
American steel workers for cheap Chinese labor. Tonight, a
report on Washington’s efforts to keep federal contracts with
U.S. companies and to level the playing field in a market that
is highly manipulated by illegal Chinese trading practices.

Criminals on the loose!
Jimpasz thanks for posting about Lou's show tonight. I wanted to mention that a former deportation agent Ame Holbrook has written a book called The Deporter. He stated to Lou that when the country of origin does not want the criminal illegal alien back this gov. is instructed to just let them go in our society no matter how many rapes, murders or kidnapping they have done. Holbrook said that these countries are planting and maintaining assassins inside our country. What he suggested was to cut off trade with these countries until they come around.
Thomas Jefferson said: When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty !

DURBIN IS ON CSPAN RIGHT NOW TALKING TO MUKASEY ABOUT 'IMMIGRATION'.
This is the 2nd day of confirmation hearings. Durbin just asked Mukasey who is responsible for enforcing immigration law. Mukasey stated responsibility lies primarily with the feds, but of course the Feds need assistance from local and state law enforcement as well. Mukasey spoke somewhat out of both sides of his mouth. Durbin in a roundabout way asked about certain state and local efforts to curb illegal immigration. Mukasey said something to the effect of 'kids being hungry' is one thing but if within the law states can have laws to curb illegals. He said he may try to persuade or guide them in a certain way but basically those state and local governments must answer to their constituents.
