Lou issues a rallying cry to American citizens eager for a
change, focusing particularly on the critical issues and
challenges of the 2008 election.

Tonight: CIA Director Michael Hayden began two days of
closed-door questioning before the Senate Intelligence
Committee today. Lawmakers are demanding answers about the
destruction of videotapes depicting the interrogation of al
Qaeda suspects.

Majority leader Harry Reid said that he would call for a
special counsel to investigate if the Bush administration
interferes with Congressional or Justice Department
investigations into the tapes. We’ll have a live report from
Washington.

President Bush announced today that teen drug use has declined
this year: Teens are using marijuana, meth and other stimulants
less and less, according to a University of Michigan report.
What’s really going on? We’ll take a closer look at the
numbers.

The Bush administration is quietly forging ahead with program
granting Mexican trucks unlimited access to our highways. The
program has grown to include 10 Mexican trucking, up from just
three in September. But you wouldn’t without checking the
Department of Transportation’s website, because the agency no
longer sends out press updates on the program. We’ll have a
special report.

Twenty-four U.S. states report that their revenues are being
hit by the current housing slump. An estimated 2 million
families are on the verge of losing their homes in coming
months. Meanwhile, banks and financial companies are looking
out for their own interests. We’ll take a look at the mortgage
crisis from the local and state level.
