Lou issues a rallying cry to American citizens eager for a
change, focusing particularly on the critical issues and
challenges of the 2008 election.

Tonight: The Republican presidential candidates held an unusual
midday debate in Iowa today—the last before the Iowa caucuses
begin the primary season in just a few weeks. We’ll take a look
at the winners and losers—and what questions were left
unanswered—with CNN’s political team.

President Bush’s list of year-end pardons was released this
week. Former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose
Compean were not on it, and some members of Congress are
outraged. We’ll have that story.

Education is the great equalizer in our society, and the
education system in this country is failing. Students in
Finland, Canada and South Korea are all outperforming U.S.
students in math, science and reading, according to a new
report. Join us for that very important story.

Wal-Mart is selling Christmas ornaments made by Chinese
children in illegal sweatshop conditions. Many of the children
work long hours in horrific conditions for as little as 26
cents an hour, according to the National Labor Committee. Tune
in for our special report.

Trade data out today showed that cheap Chinese imports continue
to fuel our widening trade gap. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary
Henry Paulson is in China today discussing our trade issues
with the country. We’ll have the latest details.

And religious conservatives are frustrated with many of the
GOP's presidential candidates. They're looking for what they
call a values voter candidate. We will be joined by the leader
of one of the country's most influential conservative groups,
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, to discuss the
issues important to religious voters.
