Douglas CBP Officers Seize Freeze Dried Marijuana

Douglas, Arizona — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a drug smuggling attempt recently when they seized 120 pounds of freeze dried marijuana.
On April 28, CBP officers screening traffic coming from Mexico selected a 1995 Ford Escort for inspection. The vehicle was being driven by a 22-year-old-man from Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.
With the assistance of high-tech tools, the CBP officers discovered several packages hidden in the quarter panels of the car. The packages contained freeze dried marijuana with a total weight 120 pounds and an estimated street value of $1.1 million.
CBP officers seized the vehicle and the marijuana. The man was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further questioning
