Thread: MA-Illegal immigrants often find the road to college blocked

W.G., a Haitian immigrant who also attended Boston schools, said he was saved by a scholarship to a private college in New York. They call him an ``international student'' and charge him only room and board.

Now I've heard it all. Sanctuary states, sanctuary counties, sanctuary cities..............and now sanctuary colleges. How is this not aiding and abetting an illegal alien?

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled it mandatory to educate K-12 illegals but no such law exist beyond the 12th grade. So, IMO, any secondary school that educates an illegal is breaking the law.

MW, I like your term "Santuary Colleges". The American people must ban colleges that allow illegals to get in-state tuition, that will stop the problem.

As this country sinks further and further into the abyss I'm sure things will change.

Across America, Filipe and students like him are welcomed into the public school system by a narrow 1982 Supreme Court ruling that guarantees them a basic education, regardless of their immigration status. After graduation, for those who want to attend college, the rules dramatically change.

Ha. If REAL AMERICANS had their way, illegal aliens would not be able to attend our public schools. Something should be done about that old 1982 ruling. If the school magnet wasnt here, they might leave.

I don't think they care if the kids are educated.
I think the kids are the ones that care. I think jobs are the magnet, then welfare..

My state needs to also but we only have 75000 illegal SO FAR!
