    'We Made Our Statement,' March Leader Says

    In the wake of the recent march protesting alleged racial profiling of and brutality against immigrants by police, some Latino leaders are considering entering into a dialogue with the town. Mayor April Capone Almon said she welcomes such a move.

    The march on Aug. 15 was organized by Unidad Latina en Accion in Connecticut and other groups to call attention to alleged patterns of racial profiling and abuse by local police. A group of 22 people has requested that the U.S. Department of Justice investigate alleged incidents of racial profiling of immigrants in East Haven.

    Although 1,000 protestors were expected, about 150 actually marched in the parade route. The marchers assembled at the Main Street McDonald's parking lot for the walk to Town Hall on a hot Saturday afternoon. “The people united will not be defeated,â€

    If you have an outstanding warrant, you get arrested, PERIOD!
    This is not racial profiling. The Latinos have gone insane trying to get law enforcement to not enforce laws on the books, while not admitting that they brought this enforcement upon themselves, since the majority of illegals are Latinos, the majority of which are Mexican. Since they did not respect laws about immigration into this country, why would any one of them respect local laws, like driving with license and insurance?

    My question is this: Why do these people think they have standing to influence local, state and federal governments? They are here illegally, break our laws without a second thought and think they should have our representatives ears? Hey, the reps won't even talk to us, the American voters.
