FRAMINGHAM — Officers investigating a dispute among roommates Friday arrested a Framingham man when they found out he had forged documents and was in the country illegally, police said.

Luciney Dossantos, 35, admitted his Social Security card and Resident Alien card were fake, police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany said.

Police went to 141 Hollis St. at 10:30 p.m. on a call about a theft. Residents said they believe their roommate, Dossantos, was stealing from them.

Police found Dossantos outside and asked for his identification. He gave them the Social Security card and his Resident Alien card, but officers thought they looked fake.

"He said he bought the cards for $30 and $50, respectively," said Shastany. "The guy said he was here illegally and he needed the documents to get employment."

Dossantos, who is from Brazil, told police he bought the documents from an unknown person in Framingham, and investigators do not know who sold the documents.

Dossantos was charged with the counterfeiting, uttering and giving a false Social Security number to police.

Dossantos also had an Immigration Customs Enforcement deportation warrant.

Police did not charge him with larceny. Dossantos was ordered held for ICE after his Framingham District Court arraignment yesterday.
